Dr. Robin Karlin and Dr. Bud Allen own and operate our practice. They, along with a dedicated team and the help of Dr. Mark Restey, aim to provide the best services and care for you and your pets.
Dr. Robin Karlin is a graduate of Tufts University College of Veterinary Medicine. She has completed extensive post-graduate study in human homeopathy with Paul Herscu and Amy Rothenberg at the New England School of Homeopathy. She also took acupuncture and chiropractic courses at Tufts University.
Before co-founding Family Veterinary Center in 1989, Dr. Karlin owned and operated mobile veterinary practices called "House Calls for Smalls" and the "Animal House Doctor", as well as providing relief work for area practices. We still offer house calls to our clients (please call the office to check availability and prices.)
She is a member of the AHVMA and the VBMA, is an affiliate of The Academy of Veterinary Homeopathy, is a member of the House Rabbit Network, the House Rabbit Society, and the Massachusetts House Rabbit Society, Inc.
Dr. Bud Allen is a graduate of Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine and also has a Master's degree in reproductive physiology. He is certified by the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association and the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society. Along with his extensive certifications he is a member of the MVMA, AAEP, and the AAVA.
Frequently, Dr. Allen lectures on chiropractic and acupuncture for local breed clubs and associations. He was the chairperson for the Veterinary Chiropractic course at Tufts University College of Veterinary Medicine. His patients include dogs, cats, horses, and assorted exotics.

Dr. Mark Restey is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He has been working with the Family Vet Center since 2006. He is a member of the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association and a graduate of the CHI Institute's acupuncture program for veterinarians.
Dr. Restey emphasizes traditional, Eastern and nutritional skills to assess, support and direct the inherent capacities of the individual. His practice includes cats and dogs as well as many of the exotic species!
